DevelopmentNow is a growing, leading-edge digital agency founded in 2005 located in the vibrant Central Eastside district of Portland. Our office shares the neighborhood with many partnering digital agencies and creative firms, plus we are close to the best coffee shops this side of the Burnside Bridge. We are currently seeking a Marketing Strategist to transform our marketing department.
We focus on using Agile Scrum methodologies, industry best practices, and innovative solutions to deliver tangible value to businesses and organizations via new technology and reliable processes. DevelopmentNow has provided digital solutions for a variety of companies, including startups, agency partners, and enterprise Fortune 500 firms. Some of our notable clients include Google, Nike, adidas, Microsoft, Showtime, SXSW, BBDO, AT&T, Ogilvy, Comcast, Kelly Services, Manheim, Avis, Pioneer, Avery Dennison, and Time Warner Cable.

Must-Have Skills:
- 2+ years in a marketing role
- Very strong professional writing skills
- A perfectionist mindset and very detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently with little to no daily direction
- Ability to run a self-directed marketing department
- Experience collaborating across departments (Development, Project Management, Sales, etc.)
- Comfort working closely with executive-level roles
- An extroverted, friendly personality
- The desire to be part of a growing agency and build a department
- Interest in mobile and web technology
Bonus Points
- Experience running marketing for a tech company
- A good eye for design
- Experience using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Comfort with networking and building professional relationships
Responsibilities of a Marketing Strategist
- Direct and manage all marketing strategies and channels
- Set daily goals for the marketing department
- Create and manage an annual calendar of events (both internal and external)
- Coordinate internal and external, public-facing events (hackathons, DWP, webinars, networking events, etc.)
- Report results on all company events
- Maintain and manage a marketing budget
- Create content for all marketing collateral (one pagers like a company overview, our portfolio, case studies and success stories, etc.)
- Create content for blog posts and all social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn at minimum)
- Generate ideas and stories that highlight our work and culture to share on our social media channels
- Collaborate with the sales department to identify target markets and determine next steps for communication
- Measure marketing analytics and understand how to read them and take action
- Run all email marketing campaigns
- Create and maintain a company voice across channels
