If Coda’s trend predictions are accurate, they may be indicative of a corollary increase in data traffic across cellular networks, principally driven by mobile video data, which is expected to grow by 138 percent over the coming 5 years.
 
While developers and mobile web users shouldn’t expect to see any immediate changes to the mobile world, networks will have to make arrangements in order to manage the influx, an estimated 40-fold increase in data traffic over the next few years. In the meantime, it’s important for businesses start thinking about how they plan to take advantage of the growing popularity of streaming video on the mobile web.
