What We're Looking For
The primary responsibility is building scalable web applications. You will develop the majority of the server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsive requests are achieved. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements with various backend services. We are looking for a developer who has a really strong understanding of React.JS, relational databases and scalable infrastructures. To ensure comprehensive understanding of the deployment processes, having a moderate understanding of DevOps is required.
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience in professional software development
- Highly experienced with back-end programming languages such as Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, Node.JS
- Proficient experience using React javascript framework
- Experience with docker or kubernetes is necessary
- Highly experienced with microservice architecture and design patterns
- Experience building RESTful APIs with proper documentation and scalability in mind
- Experience consuming RESTful APIs to integrate web applications with server side systems
- Experience working with distributed systems and Web services
- Experience building and deploying AWS application infrastructures to host scalable web and mobile applications. Other hosting platforms such as Azure, DigitalOcean, Heroku are a plus.
- Knowledge of web and API design principles, patterns and best practices
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate into technical requirements
- Passion for benchmarking and optimization
- Passionate about technology and willing to develop expertise in any emerging field
- Experience with Git and continuous integration
- Experience working in teams that are run with ‘agile’ processes
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant work experience
Nice to Haves
- Publicly published web applications are a plus
- Android development experience
Responsibilities of a Freelance Full Stack Developer
- Build scalable web applications by designing, building and maintaining high performance, reusable and reliable code
- Develop, maintain and deploy our web applications alongside a team of engineers
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Implementation of security and data protection
- Design and implementation of data storage solutions
- Remain up-to-date with the latest technologies. Understand the benefits and limitations that they will provide your team with when furthering the development of the product
- Work closely with our project, design and business teams to develop and ship new features
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and bug fixing
- Conduct regular code and peer reviews to make sure quality requirements are met
- Interact with other teams and be a part of the process with positive and helpful reviews
- Monitor and participate in workflow tracking (JIRA) and documentation (Confluence) so that these scalable processes facilitate business growth
