DevelopmentNow Announces New Chicago Branch

Land of deep-dish pizza, land of Chicago style hot dogs, land of the Blackhawks! Now, even more reason to celebrate Chicago– DevelopmentNow has expanded to the Windy City!

The Pacific Northwest has been our home for the last ten years. From our office in Portland, Oregon, we’ve launched successful projects for Time Warner Cable, Avery Dennison, and Microsoft just to name a few. Now, we’re going back to the future to where it all started for our CEO Ben Strackany.

“We’re excited to continue our rapid growth in the digital space and reconnect with our Chicago roots. We see a Chicagoland branch of DevelopmentNow as a strategic opportunity to be part of the innovative, hard-working digital and startup community there, while collaborating with the best and brightest to deliver high-impact technology solutions to partners in the Midwest. ”

– Ben Strackany

Brendan has been developing dynamic, standards-driven technology for over ten years.  At Trover Solutions, he maintained mission-critical database systems with thousands of live interactive users, and in his capacity as a consultant for New York-based firm Indelible Media, he worked with clients including Casio, Citi, White + Warren, and Cook’s Illustrated.  As an iOS developer, he brings to DevelopmentNow a focus on high performance, user accessibility and visual polish.  Brendan’s mobile expertise has contributed to the success of several high-stakes and innovative DevelopmentNow projects, including apps for Manheim and Ready Auto Transport.

Scott has co-founded multiple startups and created many successful products and services over the past 15 years. In 1997 he co-founded Hopscotch Media, a Web agency, and subsequently was co-founder of both ShopLocal (1999) and Timelines (2007). As an independent contractor he designed and developed solutions for Windstream Communications, Kraft Foods, Buena Vista International, Dow Chemical, First Analysis, and many other smaller companies. He enjoys advising startups and early-stage companies in Lean practices and JTBD methodology.

Although we already work with globally recognized clients  from our Portland offices, there’s nothing like working elbow to elbow on location with smart folks who want to build cutting edge product solutions just like we do. The Chicago tech community offers the mix of talent, drive and ideas that drive our creativity. We like to be where innovation is happening, and there’s no better city to get in on the action than Chicago.
